made for my husbands birthday, which is today! It took me a long time to perfect this recipe but I finally got it right..after about 10 tries. I have a lot of respect for bakers. This is hard work. You definitely need to try this recipe out.
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 315 degrees and line a cookie sheet with silicone macaron baking mats.
2. In a bowl mix together the sifted flour & powdered sugar.
3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs whites with a stand or hand mixer until frothy.
4. Start adding in the sugar, little by little. Then add the cream of tartare & extract.
5. Beat the mixture on medium to high speed for about 2 minutes or until it forms stiff peeks.
6. Using a spatula, fold in the flour mixture until the batter in thinned where it unfolds itself in about 10 second.
7. Pour batter into a pipping bag & pipe the macarons onto the sheet.
8. Add sprinkles on top of desired. Bake at 315 for about 15-16 minutes.
9. Remove from the oven and completely cool before trying to remove from the sheet.
10. For the buttercream, beat the softened butter then slowly add in the powder sugar & extract.
11. Pour into a piping bag & dot icing on the macaron & sandwich together. Enjoy!
